Arrowverse and Legends

Back again for the second part of the premiere week here on The Geek. I don’t know if this is like part 2 of 3 or what. But, here we are!  This time covering Legends and Arrow. Both are very good shows. Personally I think that my favorite of the two is actually Legends. While it has never had a great first season the second one’s just silly and fun. As I’v said before.  I do think that out of the four Arrow didn’t have that great of a return.

Legends came back basically firing on all cylinders. Awesome job to the staff and crew. We have been waiting all season to find out what happened to Rip and finally at the end of the last episode we had our answer. He was stuck back in time developing a sci-fi film and that George Lucas was going to play a role in the telling. It was also awesome to hear that Legends had a huge rating boosts. Those are good in that means people will stay and show won’t be taken off air.

It wasn’t probably till at least the first run in the Legends have with the now dubbed “Legion of Doom” when I thought that this episode was going to be one of the best. I think the strongest part of the episode is it’s ties to George Lucas. The Star War’s moments were fun to watch. The new version of Rip Hunter(He’s a stoned out director that has no idea he’s Rip.) was funny and compelling. The wig they have him wearing is atrociously bad but it's also kind of cool that it's so bad.

The newly named Legion of Doom

If there is any downside it’s in the bad guys. While they have three to battle there is no real plan or idea or even why they are wanting this. We have reached half a season and there is no motive. The writers and showrunner have done well with the heroes. It’s sad in that there counterparts aren't very well drawn together and are nothing more than billboards. Thawne is a speedster and you built him up the first season of Flash and while Darkhe isn’t exactly well rounded what's his gain? The truly sad one though is Merlyn. Merlyn is from Flash a guy we have spent years knowing. It’s also a shame that John Borrowman is just being tossed away like he has been.
