Geekdom! #2 The Scarlet Speedster

The Flash

Go ahead and ask any kid that is little, say around five; I bet he tells you that he loves Flash. Hearing his battles and fights with Zoom and Reverse Flash definitely draws the kiddos into his story.

When he was little Barry Allen’s mom was killed by someone or something in the kitchen of his house. Though I’m sure that has changed in the comics. What it is I don’t know. His father was tried and convicted of the crime. Barry grew up and worked to try and clear his Father’s name.

He was struck with lightning and became the Flash afterwards. The telling like everything else changes. Some characters stay the same and some of course are added made up whole cloth to fit the stories the writer wishes to tell, or use to show off Flash.

There have been other speedsters in the Multiverse. The Multiverse is what we call Flash’s world. It’s where he can go back in time. We just found out through the show though that he can go into the future but it’s dangerous. Obviously.  

The other speedsters is Wally West; another speedster that helps out Barry Allen. He goes by the nickname of Kid Flash. Jay Garrick is another Flash and is the Flash in his world. He is there to help and assist the Flash in what he’s doing. In each of the tellings though there is always Iris West. She’s the girl that Barry always wants. They do change the things up though.

Some of the cool villains in this world are Reverse Flash, Zoom, Heat Wave, Captain Cold. A Lot of these guys though are other speedsters. The TV show the main villain each year has been another speedster.

We could go on and on the full history of Flash. As it's been around a really long time. I hope you have been enjoying these Geekdom's as I'v been calling it.
