Supergirl and Social Media

So this past week I was cruising around the twitter world. I came across I tweet post made on Supergirl. I clicked it and went to the post and found it it was to a fan community. I guess the user had actually clicked it not knowing or thinking. Who knows.

The post came from @TaronYoung and that is where things get interesting. I'm thinking it's actually a woman whom watches this with her daughters. Now she's upset with the fact that Supergirl has the storyline that has her sister now finding herself liking women. I have no idea if this is click bate which it could have been. I remember reading this post and found myself replying back. I didn't think much as I don't. Generally my posts to someone goes unnoticed and I thought I'd just be lost to the void that is twitter.  I posted back about how I let my son watch and I don't get the sex. I still don't; I don't know to this day. I included that I let my son watch and that I don't find it bad. Yes, it's homosexuality and it's according to some evil.

I don't find a problem with gays or lesbians. My Mother was an artist and I'd probably been around them one way or the other my whole life. I do think that it's a parents right to block whatever they deem to be to much. That part I do stick by @TaronYoung and while I think it's sad personally. That her kids won't see something that is normal and loving. My Dad's side of the family my Grandparents were married for 50 years but they weren't happy. They were miserable, and so to see something that is loving and at least nice is hard to come by.

I know that this person got lit up as all and anyone can see from the posts and yet some of it I don't know if it's totally needed. Either way though we as fans and those that don't mind these type of story lines and there are a lot of us out there. This shouldn't be shocking, and we should be expecting this. For the next four years people are going to be seeing a lot of Geek entertainment. That means too that where it gets a bit open and characters act as they should from the comics people are going to get upset. Cable is to be in the next Deadpool and would make sense that they hook up. With these decision and actions there are going to be people that are going to shout and scream. So think everyone needs to prepare to either ignore as we can't always go to war for every post or thought posted somewhere, or say something.

I know that with this past week this post has gotten quiet the big response. I'm still getting notifications and what not over this post. I though it was interesting as I'v never fully have had that happen but it's interesting none the least. It probably to some extent is a flame bait and was blown out by others. Still though people should be able to post whatever they want and parents should still block what they consider to be questionable. TV shouldn't raise your kids as you should raise yours. That is what I wanted to say but alas it's not easy to say all of that in a 160 or something worded post, and besides it would take WAY to many replies to post all of this.

I hope you all enjoy you'r night and have a good day at work tomorrow. I have the Geek Present which will be posted either the 31 or 1st of this week. Earlier this week I let it slip as to who the movie shall be. A very cool Geek film.
