Ben out as director Kevin Smith or Zack in the chair!

So now that I got my crazy headline sorting basically Sci-fi Wire as it’s now called it’s being said that the drama is increasing over at the WB over the movie called The Batman. Now we as fan’s are going to get a rush job on The Batman, and either Kevin Smith or Zack Snyder directing it? First off can I say oh my God to at least the Zack Snyder. I don’t think he should be touching comic properties with a ten foot poll. You want to make money Warner but yet you keep going to a director that has very polorizing movies? Besides his remake of Dawn of the Dead I can’t think of another that was so widely liked or people cared for.

As to the Kevin Smith part I think that is awesome. I say no way in hell is that going to happen or will happen. There is a falling out between Kevin Smith and Ben Affleck and it involves Jennifer Gardner. She I don’t think gets the ribbing or style of guys that Kevin is. If you want proof go look up the Jon Faverau TV show where they are eating a dinner and talking. Think it’s Five at dinner or something. He has Ben, Kevin and Jennifer and she’s trying to defend him through out the whole thing and liking him but gets pissed the longer the evening went.

I have said a few things about these changes and developements over on Twitter and I will stand by them. DC and DC Films should and does need to take a page out of there TV properties. They are flawlessly, easily knocking TV out of the park! Yet, film wise they are getting there asses handed to them by Marvel. Why this is I don’t know. Another rush job on a movie and or another troubled production and all that isn’t what DC needs. It needs someone steering and taking the time to get these movies out there. Film takes time and if they jack up Batman I don’t know if there is a way to come back from it. You’v already to a certain extent jacked up Superman. Now you’r going to go and mess with the other big one? Not to mention there is still a possiblity of jacking up Wonder Woman. That is like Marvel taking a crap on Spiderman and the Avengers. Hey they can not get a homerun with Black Panther or even Guardians. There not the main Marvel characters. They don’t call these three characters though the “Trinity” of DC for nothing. Hell they have a comic book series that is about these three as a team up and guess what the name IS “Trinity”.

They have tried for years to get a universe to get it together and they didn’t. They started to it in Batman Forever. Why when Bruce shows off the bikes to Robin he mentions Metropolis. That was back in the mid 90’s people! WB please do me a favor and actually get someone talented and take your time. Get it right please because the DC fan’s would love a really cool Batman movie and not crap. Can’t keep calling Nolan to come save you from yourselves!
