WB maybe dropping the ball on WW?!
As you all know Wonder Woman is due out in just a few weeks and yet we haven't really been seeing the product placements. I was taking a peek over at blastr and I saw the geek girl's post about the fact that Wonder Woman hasn't really had that much merchandise or major pushing. That got me thinking really.
Thinking that maybe this is actually how W.B. drops the ball on Wonder Woman, and in effect actually accomplishing the effect of damaging the Trinity. The Trinity in geek circles is the effect of the big Three; Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. All three of these are huge Titan's over at DC Comics. Now with the rage of comic book properties I would actually add Flash to that group.
Anyhow, back to what I was saying I think that there is problems ashore to the film side of Warner. I don't think there is much of a plan and I think that as a whole guys over at Marvel and the fan's in general want to have competition. Competition is good, and with other studio's actually putting out there some solid work (I'm looking over at you FOX.) be nice to have DC shine.
I have seen where it's being reported that they have spent the same amount of money compared to Suicide Squad. While that may actually be true I don't care. It's not about how much you spend or anything like that, but in the effect. If your spending but people still don't know it's weird. In fact that is never a good thing. I work in retail and it's like a store having a huge sale and all they do is announce it thru paper's and ad's in the stores but nothing else. Then sit back and shocked when no one shows up.
I understand that these films make a lot of money and cost a lot of money to put on. There is huge gamble and that studio's and those that made this movie are risking a lot of money. Though they are they should be shouting out and getting the word out there. Especially. when it come to the demographic you should be going after first....women and girls. Where are the ad's on Supergirl? You own the network surely someone knows it exists, and would throw an ad every now and then.
Please Warner don't jack this up and don't drop the ball as I hope you haven't. I'v heard that this film is actually a really good movie. Sadly even if it is good if it doesn't have a huge or a decent opening weekend it won't matter, and once again you'r back where you are. That will make it harder to get directors to play ball with you. Even though Marvel is kind of stuck on the over all vision and not exactly free to let other's express themselves still they are a surer bet.
